About the Arist
Nina was born in Moscow, Russia and raised in Boulder, Colorado where she learned about snowboarding and the benefits of wheat grass.
She moved to New York to attend the Pratt Institute and later received her Master of Fine Arts in Painting from the New York Academy of Art. She has also attended the New York Studio School, Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice, Italy, and the Surikov Insitute of the Arts in Moscow.
Nina Barry and her art have been the subject of international media attention including features by The Associated Press, The Miami Herald, New York Press, The Detroit Free Press, The Dallas Morning News as well as prominent internet blogs such as Rocketboom and Gothamist.
Her work is in private collections in the US, Russia, Germany and the UK.

Artist Statement
Although my paintings stay faithful to the formal visual elements defined by figurative traditions, my inspiration is drawn from more fanciful and ethereal sources. The bulk of my work explores the ideas of an ephemeral soul, the symbolism of wildlife, and spirituality at large. You will find mystical landscapes, whimsical dreaminess, and nostalgic undertones in pieces that I hope will bring the viewer a sense of quiet enjoyment.
